Meet Us
Research and the Elmwood Pediatric Group
At Elmwood Pediatrics we find that our ability to give excellent primary medical care to our patients is enhanced by the research we do. The research we have done on vaccinations, pharyngitis (sore throats) and otitis media (ear infections), as well as other areas, keeps us informed about cutting edge medicine.
We also participate in the American Academy of Pediatrics PROS Network. This network addresses primary care research issues with practices across the country. Dr. Hoeger leads this program for our group.
At Elmwood Pediatrics the research we have participated in or led has helped to improve the care of strept throat, find a non-stimulant treatment for ADD, discover behavioral diseases associated with strept throat, improve the pertussis vaccine and create one for teenagers, create combination vaccinations with less shots, create vaccinations against several forms of meningitis, improve the care of ear infections, and get approval for newer and stronger antibiotics.
Elmwood Pediatric Group continues to participate in with the University of Rochester in their research efforts. We are proud of our work and welcome any questions and interest in Research at EPG.
